Second-grade teacher, Lisa McGlone, has a published book for sale on Amazon. The book is titled “Ohh Ohhh I Knew That.  Stories of Old Man Joe.”  In the story “Joe” is a very silly elderly man. The character came to McGlone over 20 years ago!

McGlone also enjoys storytelling at family nights in restaurants, at birthday parties, and at children’s camps. She will be doing book-signings throughout the summer and plans to have a second book published this June.

Back at school, McGlone works endless hours prepping her students for success by tutoring before and after school hours as well.

LasleyOn the musical side, teacher Jeremy Lasley recently had his first CD produced. Jeremy is in a band called the Lastones and they perform locally all year.

A part of the four-member band, Lasley plays acoustic guitar, drums, piano, and does lead vocals.

The Lastones music is “Americana-themed” and one song, “Ocracoke,” even aired in Ocracoke on their local radio station. They will have an official CD Release Party on July 22nd at the Belmont House of Smoke in Ghent.
