Road rage incident may be connected with shooting in York County

York County, Va - A road rage incident is possibly to blame for two people being shot over the weekend.

Just before 9 o'clock on Saturday evening a deputy was parked at Fire Station 5 on Newman Road and a vehicle pulled up to him and the occupants had gun shot wounds, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office.york co police

They said the incident began on Richmond Road near the Route 199 on ramp and the shooting occurred on the 199 overpass near the Morris town Road exit.

Authorities say the shots came from a Nissan SUV, possibly Murano model, black in color.  They say the white male suspect had a military style haircut and tattoos. They said it was also a white female in the front seat of his car.

Deputies say that another vehicle described as an orange Jeep Wrangler four-door blocked in the victim's car during the shooting.

The female victim was shot in the head according to deputies and was flown to a hospital in Richmond. They say a male who is in the backseat of the car also suffered a gunshot wound to the left eyebrow area of his face.

The search continues for the shooter and other people that were possibly involved in the situation
