Assateague Island National Seashore will be featured on a postage stamp that will be issued by the United States Postal Service on Thursday.
The stamp is part of 16 National Parks Forever stamps being issued to celebrate the National Park Service on its 100th anniversary.
The stamp features wild horses from the island. A photograph from Tim Fitzharris of Fayetteville, Arkansas was used to create the image.
A dedication ceremony will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Assateague Island National Seashore’s visitors center in Berlin, Maryland as part of an overall webcast that will take from the World Stamp Show in New York.
