CHESAPEAKE ROAD WORK:

DOMINION BLVD LANE CLOSURES: May 25 and 26 from 9pm-6am and May 31-June 2 from 9pm-6am. Work on the Dominion Blvd Improvement Project will require single lane closures overnight at various locations along Dominion Blvd as needed over the next two weeks.

MOSES GRANDY TRAIL CLOSURE:  May 25 and 26 from 9pm-6am and May 31-June 2 from 9pm-5am. Bridge work will close Moses Grandy Trail near Dominion Boulevard overnight as needed over the next two weeks.  A detour via (Old) Cedar Rd and Scenic Pkwy will be marked.  For more information on the Dominion Boulevard Improvement Project visit www.DominionBoulevard.com.

VETERANS BRIDGE LANE CLOSURE: Veterans Bridge on Dominion Blvd one lane closed, Thursday, May 26 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Gilmerton will have an extended opening everyday, Monday through Thursday at 1:00 PM through May 26th, and again on June 6th through 9th. Expect 20 minute delays.

VIRGINIA BEACH ROAD WORK:

  • *****Elbow Rd closed to all traffic, the closure will last for five months until September 1st, 2016. The detour will be in place via Centerville Turnpike to Kempsville Rd to Indian River Rd and vise versa. ******
  • Lynnhaven Parkway closed from Albright Dr to Dalrymple St. The closure is part of the Lynnhaven Parkway project that is ongoing through the Kempsville section of the city. A detour will be in place and will vary as construction progresses.  Access to the neighborhood maintained at all times. The closures will be in place through September 2016.

CONSTRUCTION AND LANE CLOSURES:  May 20, 2016 through May 27, 2016

 *There will be no lane closures along Hampton Roads Interstates from noon Friday, May 27, 2016 until noon Tuesday, May 31, 2016 for the Memorial Weekend Holiday*

 

  • I-64 Widening Project, Newport News/York County: Single-lane closures eastbound and westbound May 22-26 as early as 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work will take place between Camp Peary and Lee Hall, and one lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Please check http://i64widening.org for the latest closure/detour information.
  • Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Downtown Tunnel single lane closures overnight only, no full closures. Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.
  • I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating closures eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Eastbound/Westbound May 23-26 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Northbound May 23-24 from 8 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Northbound/Southbound May 24 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Southbound May 25-26 from 8 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning
  • US-17 James River Bridge, Isle of Wight County: Daytime single-lane closures northbound and southbound May 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times.
  • I-64 HOV Reversible Roadway, Norfolk: The Reversible Roadway will be closed as follows. The ramps at the I-264 flyover and I-564 will remain open:
    • May 23-25 from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
    • May 24 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • I-564 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Daytime and night-time single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Westbound May 26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the I-564 Runway Tunnel.
  • Newtown Road on-ramp to I-264 Westbound, Norfolk: Newtown Road on-ramp to I-264 westbound will close nightly May 22-24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. A detour will be in place.
  • I-64 Eastbound/Westbound, York County/James City County: Brief full closure of I-64 eastbound and westbound, Monday, May 23, beginning at 10 p.m. at the James City and York County line. Traffic stoppages will last up to 20 minutes.
  • I-64 Westbound, York County/James City County: Alternating lane closures westbound May 22-26 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning between Camp Peary and the New Kent County Line. One lane will remain open at all times.
  • I-64 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Night-time alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound as follows between Chesapeake Avenue and Tidewater Drive. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times:
  • Eastbound/Westbound May 23-26 from 8 p.m. until as late as 9 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-64 Eastbound/Westbound, Norfolk: Night-time alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound as follows between Northampton Boulevard and Military Highway. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times:
  • Eastbound/Westbound May 23-27 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-64 Eastbound, Newport News: Single-lane closures westbound May 23-27 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning between Bland Boulevard Overpass and Oyster Point Road. One lane will remain open at all times.
  • VA-199 over College Creek Eastbound/Westbound, York County: Alternating lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times.
    • Eastbound/Westbound May 23-26 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-95 Bridge Replacement over the Meherrin River Southbound, Emporia: Consecutive single-lane closures southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Southbound May 22-27 from 6:30 p.m. until 5.pm. the following morning between Exit 13 and 11 at the Greensville County and Town of Emporia Line.
  • Route 301 Northbound, Greensville County: Left-lane consecutive closure on Route 301 northbound May 2-26. The right lane will remain open at all times.
  • Route 680 over Stallings Creek, Isle of Wight County: Full consecutive closure on Route 680 over Stallings Creek for bridge replacement May 16 through June 2017. The right lane will remain open at all times.
  • George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays.
