VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Residents near Whiting Lane and Sandpiper Road in Sandbridge are taking action, after they say a 10-year-old boy was almost abducted on Tuesday night.

According to the child’s mother, Angela Kirkland, her son was walking home from the beach around 6 p.m., surfboard in hand, after playing with some friends.

That is when Kirkland’s son noticed a red Dodge sitting at a stop sign. Kirkland says her son immediately had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right.

After waiting a few minutes, the driver of the vehicle told the 10-year-old boy to come to the car because he and the two other passengers had something they wanted to give him.

Kirkland says that is when her son bolted home.

In an effort to warn her neighbors, Kirklandposted about the incident on Facebook. Her post has already received over 200 shares.
