NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Admirals coach Eric Veilleux is making the trek up north to Canada to become the coach and general manager of the Victoriaville Tigres.

The Tigres announced that Veilleux signed a three year contract with the team on Monday.

The Admirals confirmed the announcement in a tweet Tuesday morning.

The Admirals named Veilleux coach in July 2015. He spent two seasons coaching the team.

Prior to coaching the Admirals, Veilleux coached nine seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where his teams reached the Memorial Cup finals.

There has been no word on who will be replacing Veilleux’s position.
