Police investigating shooting on MacDonald Road in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Police are investigating after a man was shot Sunday night in Chesapeake.

According to a news release from police, officers were called about the shooting around 7:45 p.m. It happened in the 1300 block of MacDonald Rd. off Indian River Rd.

The victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  It is unknown how serious his injuries are.

According to police, the shooter took off in a car.  A perimeter was set up but officers were unable to locate a suspect.

The only description of the car is that it was light blue.

There is no further information at this time. This remains an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
