VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Hampton Roads is Louder than a Bomb was a poetry slam presented by the Hampton Roads Youth Poets, a part of Teens with a Purpose. This local non profit organization is focused on helping teens find their voices and hone their presentation skills with experienced coaches.
This event also included the Youth Poet Laureate program which highlighted young people in Hampton Roads who are decided to civic engagement, poetry, leadership, and education.
Taking place at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Louder Than a Bomb program started Chicago and has spread all over the country. The program encourages teens to share their perspectives and experiences through poetry.
