President Obama grants early release to 2 Hampton Roads inmates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two Hampton Roads men will be released from prison early after President Obama commuted the sentences of 58 inmates Thursday.

Timothy Antjuan Augustus of Hampton was sentenced to prison for 17 years and six months with five years supervised released for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute cocaine.  Augustus will now be released from prison on September 2, 2016.

Wade Cutchen of Newport News was in jail for conspiracy to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute heroin. On September 15, 2000, Cutchen was sentenced to 27 years with five years’ supervised release. The sentence was amended to just over 21 years’ imprisonment on May 19, 2015. After President Obama granted commutation of his sentence, he will get out of jail on February 2, 2017.
