Tuesday, May 3 marks a major local Election Day in Virginia, and with that comes several important elections in Hampton Roads and the surrounding areas.

The current Mayor of Franklin, Raystine Johnson-Ashburn, announced in January that she would not seek reelection. Mayor Johnson was the first female black mayor elected in Franklin. Running for her seat are current Franklin City Council members Greg “Goldie” McLemore and Frank M. Rabil.
