Notable local races:
Norfolk Mayor:
The largest and perhaps most notable of the area elections is the race for Norfolk mayor. NewsChannel 3’s Les Smith had a chance to sit down will all three candidates to hear a little about where they stand on the issues.

Chesapeake Mayor:
The current Mayor of Chesapeake is running unopposed in his city. Mayor Alan Krasnoff has held the position of Mayor of Chesapeake since 2008.

Hampton Mayor:
Current Mayor of Hampton George E. Wallace is running against challenger Donnie R. Tuck. Mayor Wallace has held his position since 2008.

Franklin Mayor:
The current Mayor of Franklin, Raystine Johnson-Ashburn, announced in January that she would not seek reelection. Mayor Johnson was the first female black mayor elected in Franklin. Running for her seat are current Franklin City Council members Greg “Goldie” McLemore and Frank M. Rabil.
