VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Justin Bieber may be feeling the lyrics of his latest song, “Sorry,” that asks “Is it too late now to say sorry” as all parties try to hammer out a settlement mediated by a judge overseeing the lawsuit in Norfolk, according to court documents.
The lawsuit filed by two local songwriters, Devin Copeland and Mareio Overton, in May 2013 indicate that Bieber and Usher took their concept and song and made millions of dollars.
Bieber and Usher both recorded versions of the song, “Somebody to Love.” In the original filing in Norfolk federal court in 2013 , Bieber, Usher and at least 20 other defendants were named in a copyright lawsuit.
Bieber was spotted at Town Center of Virginia Beach on Friday.
Court papers filed last week indicated that Bieber’s representatives are seeking to settle the lawsuit by June 29.
