Tracking on and off rain and storms for the work week….We’re starting to sound like a broken record, but you’ll need to keep your umbrella handy. Showers and storms are in your work week forecast.

We’re tracking an approaching cold front from the west. This front will be our weather maker into Monday and Tuesday as it stalls across the viewing area. So, as we move through our Monday, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies. Rain will be possible through the morning. But rain chances will go up a bit more by afternoon and evening as the front runs into some warm, humid air. In fact, a few storms are possible by then, which could produce some heavy rain and flooding. High temperatures with rise into the lower 80s. Winds will be breezy from the southwest between 10 and 15 mph.

With the front stalled across the area Tuesday, we’ll have on and off showers and possibly some thunderstorms. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s.

By Wednesday, the front will start to move out to sea. Still, our weather will be a bit unsettled with a lower chance of rain. Highs will be in the upper 60s.  Then, by the end of the week, an upper level low will swing from the north and spin over Hampton Roads, giving way to more rain and temps in the 60s.

Tonight: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. A Few Showers Possible (30%). Low temperatures in the mid 60s. Winds: S/SW 5-10 mph.

Monday: Partly Sunny. Chance of Rain/Storms (40%). High temperatures in the lower 80s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly Cloudy. Showers Likely (70%). Storms Possible. High temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: S 10-20 mph.
