VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A 35-year-old man could spend the next three decades behind bars after officials say he was caught selling crack cocaine at a Virginia Beach hotel.

Quin Ausidi Goffigan

Quin Ausidi Goffigan pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.

Officials say he was caught on February 19, 2014 selling crack in a hotel. Virginia Beach Police were conducting surveillance at the hotel and saw Goffigan selling the substance to someone.

Police then approached Goffigan and found he had a bag that contained off-white rocks. They suspected that it was cocaine. The rocks were sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science and they confirmed that this was indeed crack cocaine.

Before police were able to arrest him, Goffigan ran away.

He was captured two months later.

Goffigan was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 9, 2016.

He already had seven prior felony drug trafficking convictions. He is now facing 30 years behind bars.

He will be formally sentenced on September 6, 2016.
