Newport News to participate in National Drug Take Back Day

Newport News, Va. – Do you have prescription drugs you need to dispose of?

Newport News will be participating in National Drug Take Back Day on April 30th.

This initiative is seeking to help prevent increased pill abuse and theft.

On April 30 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., police will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs to be disposed of.

There will be collection points in Newport News at the Police Department’s North Precinct at 368 DeShazor Drive (the lot in between the Fire Station and Police Department), the Police Department’s South Precinct at 3303 Jefferson Ave.  and the Sentara Port Warwick Emergency Room at 1131 Loftis Boulevard.
