PAISLEY PARK, Minnesota — Pop megastar Prince died Thursday at the age of 57. Police responded to a medical call and found the singer unresponsive in an elevator.

There is evidence that Prince’s death was not unexpected. The he started writing his memoirs a month ago. He finished about 50 pages by the the time of his death.

TMZ reports that Prince went to a pharmacy just hours before he died. This was the fourth time he visited the pharmacy in a week. TMZ obtained this photo of Prince leaving a Walgreens near his home in Minnesota on Wednesday night, April 20th:

Sources tell TMZ people at the Walgreens store were concerned because he looked much more frail and nervous than usual.

On Saturday night, April 16th, he addressed a crowd at Paisley Park near his home and said: “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”

The Hall of Fame recording artist Prince made an emergency landing in at Quad City International Airport in Moline Illinois last Friday.  He was rushed to the hospital after making the unscheduled landing.

He had been battling an illness for several weeks, even cancelling two shows in Atlanta. He was secretly scheduled to play St. Louis on April 16th before that show was canceled.
