Newport News, Va. – A family of four, an adult and three children, are staying with family members after their Newport News home was destroyed by flames on Sunday morning.
Units went out to the fire at around 6:24 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Center Avenue.
When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire coming from an attached garage.
It took crews an hour to get the fire under control after it spread from the garage to the house.
The adult and three children who were displaced are now with other family members.
No one was injured and officials have not determined a cause.
