The country of Sweden has launched an official telephone number that connects callers to a random Swede for a conversation.
‘The Swedish Number’ is +46 771 793 336 and is live now for anyone to call.
“250 years ago, in 1766, Sweden became the first country in the world to introduce a constitutional law to abolish censorship. To honour this anniversary, Sweden is now the first country in the world to introduce its own phone number. Call +46 771 793 336 and get connected to a random Swede, anywhere in Sweden and talk about anything you want."
Swedish citizens can register as ambassadors and are able to download an app that lets them receive the random calls.
Since launching on April 6, the number has already received more than 15,000 calls from around the world.
