San Francisco, CA – San Francisco just became one of the most generous cities in the country.

Lawmakers decided to offer six weeks of fully paid leave for new parents.

According to USAToday.com, this comes just a day after New York passed a law requiring up to 12 weeks of partially paid time off for new parents.

California also requires that employees get 55% of their wages for up to six weeks of paid family leave.

This new law helps low wage workers who cannot afford to take a pay cut while they are trying to take care of a new baby.
