Clerk hit in head with gun during Newport News armed robbery

Newport News, Va. - A 7-Eleven clerk was taken to the hospital after being struck on the back of the head with gun.

Police say two armed suspects came into the 7-Eleven on 11500 Jefferson Boulevard on April 5 at 8:40 p.m.

The investigation revealed that the first suspect pulled out a gun and forced the clerk to open a cash register. The second suspect pulled out a gun and forced two customers to the back of the store and robbed them at gunpoint.

After the first suspect grabbed the cash, he hit the clerk on the back of the head with the gun and took money out of the clerk's pocket.

The clerk suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

SurveillanceThe first suspect was described as a black male, about 5'11" tall, between 20 and 30 years old with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, blue latex gloves, white shoes and a blue and white bandana over his face. He was armed with a black/chrome semiautomatic handgun.

The second suspect was described as a black male, about 5'9" tall, between 20 and 30 years old with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, blue gloves, white shoes with a dark bandana over his face. He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
