COLUMBIA, S.C. – A savage beating caught on camera along a South Carolina river has resulted in three arrests, police announced Monday.
Sickening video recorded roughly two weeks ago shows a mob of attackers beating the 20-year-old victim senseless, leaving her bloody on the rocky shore.
One of the victim’s friends, Ramy Williams, told WIS-TV the video was nauseating for her to watch.
“One’s kicking her, and she’s completely helpless. It’s just really hard to watch,” Williams said. “The other one was just wailing on her face, wailing on her head, you know, on the back of her head. It definitely could have killed her.”
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was hanging out taking in the sun with a co-worker when the three women attacked her, throwing her by the hair onto the ground, according to a police report. It’s unclear what led up to the physical altercation.
“Seeing the aftermath was just insane: the way that she had blood all over her face, two black eyes, you can tell that she’s completely messed up in the face,” Williams said.
The 20-year-old suffered a broken nose and a concussion during the beating.
Police have charged 18-year-old Arlinda Craft, 19-year-old Anns Leigh Hill and 20-year-old Megan Williams with second degree assault and battery by mob.
