Portsmouth, Va. – Police are investigating a fatal accident on the Western Freeway at Towne Point Road.
A police officer on patrol found the accident at 3:09 a.m.
The officer located two men with serious injures and a black Subaru sedan with heavy damage.
Medics responded to the scene and pronounced one of the men deceased. They took the other man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
VA-164 Westbound and Cedar Lane were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
