Newport News, Va. – Two people are in the hospital after being shot during a fight at a party early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Hamilton Drive shortly before 2:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting.
Police investigation revealed that a fight happened during a party when someone started shooting.
A 17-year-old Newport News male was shot in the back and grazed by a bullet in his left thigh. He was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
An 18-year-old Hampton woman was shot in the left thigh. She was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male between 19-22 years old, between 5’4″ and 5’5″ tall, and about 130 pounds.
