Chesapeake, Va. – Police were led on a pursuit into Norfolk after attempting to initiate a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

At 1:30 a.m., a Chesapeake Police officer attempted to initiate the traffic stop at the intersection of Campostella Boulevard and Border Road in the South Norfolk section of the city.

The driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old Johnathan Norfleet, refused to stop and police followed the vehicle into the City of Norfolk.

Norfleet eventually stopped without incident at the intersection of Kimball Terrace and Wiley Drive, about 3.5 miles away from where police first attempted to stop him.

Norfleet was charged with misdemeanor eluding and driving on a revoked operator’s license.

He had two outstanding warrants on file from Norfolk as well for failure to appear in court and failure to pay child support.
