Virginia Beach, Va. – A Virginia Beach woman learned that talking with strangers may not be so bad after all.
Chanel Skinner has a stranger to thank for winning $200,000 in the Virginia Lottery.
A man in the Circle D Food Mart at 971 Virginia Beach Boulevard pointed to a ticket in the display and told her to purchase it.
“Get this one right here,” he said.
When Skinner hesitated, he told her, “Trust me, just get it.” Then, he walked out of the store before Skinner bought the ticket.
The odds of winning the top prize in Jewel 7’s are 1 in 734,400.
She said she plans to use her winnings to donate to her church and maybe buy a new car.
