Students jump in the chilly Atlantic for Special Olympics’ Cool School Challenge

Students from schools across Hampton Roads gathered at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Friday morning to take part in the Special Olympics’ Cool Schools Challenge ahead of the 2016 Polar Plunge.

The students raised money for Special Olympics Virginia ahead of the plunge.

Plaza Middle School raised the most money overall -- $6,406.

Smithfield High School was the high school that raised the most money -- $3,256.

A total of $53,145 was raised!
