Hampton, Virginia – Almost 400 people are without power in Hampton.

Police and Fire Dispatchers say a blown transformer caused a transformer fire in the area of North King Street and Salisbury Way.

The fire knocked down a portion of the power pole and power lines.

The fire was extinguished and Dominion Virginia Power crews are on scene working to make repairs and restore power to customers.

Power is expected to be restored to customers between 9:00am and 11:00am.

North King Street is closed between Rip Rap Rd and Salisbury Way while repairs are being made.
