Two Afghan Air Force students training in Georgia have been reported missing.

The students did not report for duty Monday at Moody Air Force Base, base officials said. They did not identify the students, who were assigned to the 81st Fighter Squadron and have been at Moody since February.

“The students have trained alongside American counterparts for the entirety of 2015 and do not pose any apparent threat,” the statement read.

Base officials said efforts were underway to locate the students as soon as possible.

Last year, three Afghan National Army officers, guests of the U.S. military at a training exercise in Massachusetts, disappeared and then reappeared in the custody of Canadian border guards.

One of the three was later granted asylum.
