Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Beach Police say there will be an increased number of officers at Green Run High School amid circulating threats that police say are not credible.
Over the weekend, Virginia Beach Police say they were notified of a message being spread on social media and via text message regarding a shooting that was to take place on Monday morning.
Detectives were able to identify and make contact the juvenile that was the source of the threat and their parents.
Investigators say the threat is not credible and there was no means available for the threat to be carried out.
Parents and students can expect to see an increased number of officers at Green Run High School on Monday as a precaution.
Norfolk Police say a similar threat seen on Facebook for Granby High School came from the same source as the Green Run threat. It’s believed that Granby was written instead of Green Run when it was being shared.
