Virginia Beach Correctional Center needs books for inmate library

Virginia Beach, Va. – The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office is asking for book donations for its inmate library.

The library currently has approximately 3,500 volumes and serves between 1,300-1,400 inmates.

They are currently in need of fresh material (new or used) in the form of paperback books and magazines.

Hardcover books or sexually explicit material are not accepted.

The library stacks are entirely filled by donations and include a wide variety of genres, including religious texts, self-help books, mysteries, westerns and classics.

Donations may be brought to the Correctional Center at 2501 James Madison Blvd. and dropped off at Visitation (on the Nimmo Parkway side of the building) between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. or the Admin entrance (on the James Madison Boulevard side) between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
