Bicyclist says he was taunted, attacked by three men in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – A man says he was harassed an attacked by three men while he rode his bicycle in a Newport News neighborhood.

Police say this happened on October 24th and the man reported the incident the next day.

The 21-year-old victim, Ryan Cowden, told police he was riding his bike home from work at around 11:45 p.m. when three men walked up to him on Oyster Point Road and Criston Drive.

Cowden says the people were muttering sexually oriented jokes and slurs at him.

He says one of the men kicked the back wheel of his bicycle and then grabbed him by his hair and slammed him into the cement.

Cowden says the three men ran away laughing.
