Virginia Beach, Va. – It took crews about 20 minutes to contain a fire at a Virginia Beach restaurant early Saturday morning.

Eric Wilkerson with the Virginia Beach Fire Department says crews responded to a fire alarm at Back Bay Gourmet, located on 2277 Upton Drive in suite 714, around 1:30 a.m.

When they arrived they forced their way into the closed and unoccupied restaurant to find fire damage in the storage room. The buildings sprinkler system salvaged the fire and contained it to that one area.

The building sustained smoke, fire and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
