Update: Fire burns until early morning at JEB Little Creek Fort Story

Update: The fire was reported out at 3:32am. No one was hurt.

Personnel noticed smoke inside the range where they were conducting training and the building was immediately evacuated.

The indoor range is used by military personnel to maintain shooting proficiency and can accommodate small arms weapons.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Norfolk, Va. – A fire was reported at the Rodriguez Indoor Shooting Range on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort-Story on Tuesday evening.

Reports came in at around 5:42 p.m.

Everyone was evacuated safely.  No one was injured.

The fire was contained to one building.

Emergency crews are on the scene now including firefighters from Naval Station Norfolk and crews from Virginia Beach.

Personnel are advised to remain clear of the incident.

All other operations are normal.
