House damaged by fire in Hampton

Hampton, Va. – A home in Hampton was damaged after a fire broke out inside on Wednesday morning.

Crews rushed out to the scene located in the 100 block of Settlers Landing Road at 1:45 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to see smoke and heavy flames coming from the roof of the home.

They say the fire was in the back of the house and was extending into the attic.

It took almost an hour to put out the flames.

A neighbor is the one who discovered the fire and went outside to investigate.

Officials have not released a cause for the fire yet and no one was injured.

The house was vacant at the time.
