Virginia Beach, Va. - A Virginia Beach Police Officer took action to help a family in need and now his good deed is making its way around the Internet.

Officer Grant Wylie was called to a Virginia Beach Wawa on Tuesday, June 16 for a trespassing call.  When he arrived, he found out that a young couple and their infant daughter were stranded in the parking lot. They had run out of gas and had no money for food.

Instead of telling them to leave, Officer Wylie took action by buying the family gas. He even went to the ATM to give them some money.

"We all have family, we all have people we know that are probably on hard times and they needed help," said Officer Wylie.

Brad Kortbawi was at the Wawa and witnessed the Officer Wylie's good deed. He took a picture with the Officer afterwards and shared it on his Facebook page. As of Wednesday night, the picture had been shared more than 3,000 times and had more than 8,000 likes.
