Norfolk, Va. – Next week, visitors to the Virginia Zoo will be able to see several recent additions to the zoo family.
A baby Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra born on April 13 is growing like a weed! The baby has been bonding with mother Abbey and they’ll slowly be introduced to the other zebras, the Zoo’s Watusi cattle and Alfred the white rhino.
Visitors can see the entire zebra herd, including mom and baby, late in the week of May 3-9.
The other new addition shouldn’t be too hard to find… she’s pretty tall! A two-year-old Masai giraffe named Noelly arrived last week from the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida.
Noelly will be part of the giraffe breeding group. After a 30-day quarantine, she’ll be introduced to the Zoo’s resident male, Billy, and the other female, Imura.
For now, you can find Noelly in the barn.
