Police identified 23-year-old Michael Allen Casey as a suspect. He was taken into custody and charged with Murder. He's being held in the Virginia Beach Jail without bond.

A witness told police she was with Casey that night when Simmons came to her house and started banging on the door. She told police, according to the search warrant, the two started fighting and then Casey pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger twice.

Casey took off, according to the witness, who said she saw Simmons was shot in the stomach.

The search warrant shows she tried to take action and save Simmons' life, but it was too late.

When police went to take Casey into custody, he admitted to detectives that he shot at Simmons twice. Then Casey asked for a lawyer.

Casey is scheduled for a bond hearing on Wednesday.
