Shenandoah County, Va. – Someone was ready for their close up today! The Wildlife Center of Virginia now has a new patient, and he’s not camera shy at all.

A homeowner in Shenandoah County found an adorable bear cub wandering in his yard. He called the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and they told him to leave the cub alone and to allow him to reunite with the mother.

The next day, the cub crawled under the man’s deck and the homeowner had to call VDGIF again, and this time they decided to take the cub to the wildlife center after there was no sign of the mother.

Wildlife Center staff members say the bear was alert, feisty and very vocal.

They gave him fluids, karo syrup and nutrical.

They plan to feed him with a bottle three times a day right now. They are looking at two sites for him. They are hoping to find a foster mother for the little cub.
