Six without home after fire destroys house in Deep Creek

Chesapeake, Va. - A family of six is without a home and three other homes nearby are damaged after flames ripped through a home in Chesapeake on Thursday evening.

The fire started in the 3300 block of Daystone Arch in the Deep Creek section of the city. Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:09 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene, they saw heavy fire coming from the two-story house. Three homes nearby were also damaged. One was damaged after flying embers started a fire on the back porch and the vinyl siding melted on two others.

No one was injured and the Red Cross is now assisting.
