Portsmouth, Va. - Scott Rowland made a gut-wrenching discovery earlier this month.

More than $60,000 worth of tools were stolen from inside his Matco Tools Truck.

The truck is Rowland's mobile shop.  It's where he keeps all the tools and other items he sells to businesses in Chesapeake and Portsmouth.

The tools were stolen while the truck was parked in Portsmouth on Airline Blvd.  It's where he would park the truck on the weekends and overnight.

He was about to start his work day on March 2nd when he realized just about everything was taken.

"I rounded the corner of the truck and saw glass on the ground," Rowland said.

The side window was shattered and the battery cables cut to disable the alarm.  The thieves even cut through razor wire to get inside.

"A lot of effort, a lot of thought and planning must have went into trying to make it happen," said Rowland.

Insurance is covering the stolen items, but he's still out all the missed sales.  Rowland estimates he's losing between $1,500 and $4,000 a day.

"They're stealing from me, they're stealing from my kids, they're stealing from my family.  I do this to make a living, working hard the honest way, and somebody else decides they're just going to take advantage of somebody else's hard work and effort."

He's ordered new merchandise but hopes someone will call police if they know who's responsible or got a deal on tools that seems too good to be true.

"They may remember a face, a vehicle, a description.  I'm sure somebody out there knows something," said Rowland.
