Norfolk, Va.- A woman escaped a car fire Saturday evening in Norfolk.
Shamika Jenkins was driving home from work around 5 p.m. when she says a man in another car started waving her down.
"He was just saying get out...get out. So I got out," said Jenkins.
Moments later she said the hood of her car burst to flames.
NewsChannel 3 cameras captured the scene right as the fire started, and were rolling as fire crews got there. The fire was put out within 10 minutes.
Jenkins tells NewsChannel 3 that she got out right in time and wants to thank the Good Samaritan who had their eyes on her.
"I just want to tell him thank you . He really was my hero."
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
