Hertford County, N.C. - A 19-year-old Ahoskie woman was killed in an icy crash in Hertford County Monday night.
Mykayia Quintara Wilder was driving east on NC 561 when she hit a patch of ice on a curve, spun sideways and crossed the center line.
Her 2005 Nissan Altima was struck by an oncoming truck heading west and she died at the scene of the crash.
"She was right around the corner," her mom told NewsChannel 3 on Wednesday. The incident occurred approximately four miles from their home.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and State Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
Wilder would have turned 20 later this week.
