Hampton, Va.- The 5A south regional track and field championships were hosted at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton this weekend. Athletes from over 10 area high schools met to compete for a chance to make it to states.
Both boys and girls competed in field and running events over the two-day event. Three top runners were Devontay Doyle, Marcus Taylor and Isaiah King. All three boys compete in multiple events, but they all went head to head in the 55 meter dash. Doyle came out victorious finishing just thousandths of seconds in front of Marcus Taylor with a 6.47. King came in a close third with a 6.49.
All three will be competing in the state championships with the times they posted this season.
