VDOT crews will be mobilized throughout the state by midnight tonight and treat roads as accumulation develops. However anti-icing will not take place on most roadways due to rain occurring prior to the snowfall.

VDOT recommends that drivers delay trips or monitor the conditions by calling the 511 system, checking out their webpage ormobile app.

If travel plans can’t be changed, it is highly advised that drivers drive slowly and keep a safe distance from other drivers.

When encountering snow plows or any other slow-moving equipment, motorists must slow down and allow the operators the right of way.

Road hazards or questions about current conditions, call VDOT’s 24-hours Customer Service Center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
