Portsmouth fire officials investigating cause of duplex fire

Portsmouth, Virginia – Portsmouth fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning duplex fire in the 90 block of Cushing Street in the Craddock section of the city.

The fire started around 3:00am.

Firefighters say the fire was contained inside  walls on the first floor and spread to the second.

The fire was under control in 25 minutes and out 15 minutes after that.

The Red Cross responded to assist the family.

Three adults and four children are displaced.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The second unit in the duplex was not damaged and is still occupied.
