Man wanted for burglary of Happy Shopper in Hampton

Hampton, Va. – Police are looking for a man wanted for burglary in Hampton.

On January 13, 2015, at 11:24 p.m., police responded to the Happy Shopper, located in the 1200 Block of North King Street, in reference to a commercial burglary.

The investigation revealed that a man forced entry to the business through a window. Once entry had been gained to the business, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money and an unknown amount of scratch off lottery tickets, police say.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-35 years old, 5’10-6’0, 150-165 pounds and last seen wearing a Navy blue baseball cap, a black hoodie, black pants with a white Nike swoosh on the left pant leg, and blue and white Nike shoes.

Anyone with information that will assist police is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES).

Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
