Norfolk, Va. - Police have arrested and charged a father following the death of an infant in Norfolk.
On December 27, Suffolk Police arrested Arthur Lee Smith for Second Degree Murder.
On Tuesday, the Medical Examiner confirmed to NewsChannel 3 that an infant by the name of Zion Lee Smith brought in last week, was killed by abusive head trauma.
Police say they issued a warrant for Smith after they found they baby unresponsive on December 23 in the 6200 Block of Sewells Point Road.
The infant was transported to Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation is being handled by the Norfolk Police Homicide Division.
