Are you ready for the Polar Plunge? Here are the details about the upcoming event:
Date: February 6th & 7th
Place: Between 6th & 7th Streets at the Oceanfront
Friday, February 6th:
All area schools involved in the Cool School Challenge (between 12-15 schools) plunge at 10:30am.
Saturday, February 7th:
In the morning (around 8:30-9:00) – Polar Plunge 5k along the boardwalk
(WTKR/WGNT has a team that runs!)
2pm: The Polar Plunge takes place.
3,000 – 3,500 plungers
Also on Saturday, between 9am-Plunge Time, the main tent at the Oceanfront is full of giveaways, a live band, the official check presentation, a parade of costumes and the Pee-Wee Plunge.
Prior to the event, WTKR/WGNT puts on a Pre-Plunge.
We invite the public to jump into the Atlantic with us on the Wednesday before the plunge (2/4/15) live on WGNT news between 7:30 – 8:00!
