Elizabeth City Police investigating armed robbery at the Days Inn

Elizabeth City Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday night at the Days Inn at 308 S. Hughes Boulevard.

Officers arrived around 9:00 p.m.  The victim and hotel’s manager, Lisa Moore, told officers that a man entered the front door, brandished what appeared to be a revolver, and demanded money.

Moore gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and the man left on foot. A witness says he fled towards the old Albemarle District Jail.

No one was injured during this incident.

The man is described as a black male, approximately 6’1” to 6’2” and 150 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage mask and gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
