Franklin,  Va. – A Franklin man convicted of raping three women was sentenced to four life sentences and 113 years on Thursday.

27-year-old Tremaine Porter was found guilty of thirteen felonies and sentenced by Judge Robert Sandwich in Southampton County Circuit Court.

Porter was found guilty of raping a 55-year-old Franklin woman on January 1, 2013. The victim was walking home from church when Porter abducted her at gun point and raped her behind a privacy fence.

The victim ran to a neighbor’s home for help carrying nothing but her Bible.

Porter also raped two women on July 24, 2013. One victim, a juvenile known to Porter, was abducted, threatened and raped. He forcefully broke into the second victim’s home where he physically assaulted, raped and sexually abused her. She was later treated at Southampton Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

“The Franklin Police did an excellent job investigating these violent crimes,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Eric Cooke. The community can rest a little easier knowing that this rapist will not be on the streets again.”

Porter was found guilty of three counts of rape, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, three counts of sodomy, grand larceny, burglary, abduction with intent to defile, and object sexual penetration, as well as probation violations for burglary and domestic assault.
