James City County, Va. – Police are now investigating after a teen says a man hit him in the face with a skateboard during an argument at a local skate park.

On Sunday, December 14 shortly before 6 p.m., James City County police officers responded to a 14-year-old who had reportedly been hit in the face with a skateboard at the skate park on Longhill Road.

Crews responded to the 4900 block of Grand Strand Drive. The 14-year-old was inside of an ambulance being treated for cuts and an abrasion on the face when officers arrived.

The teen told police he was at the skate park, located in the 5000 block of Longhill Road, when there was an argument between multiple people.

An unknown man bumped into the 14-year-old when the second argument happened, police say. The man hit the boy in the face with a skateboard, and then a fight broke out. Police also say the 14-year-old then pulled a knife out and then left the scene.

The case is still under investigation, according to Major Steve Rubino of the James City County Police Department.
